Maxim's MAX2204 linear power detector is available in a tiny 2mm x 2.2mm, lead-free, 5-pin SC70 package for mobile applications. The power detector is designed to compensate for temperature and process drift, reducing output variation to ±0.5dB at full power (5dBm) and ±1.5dB at low power (-16dBm) . This will reduce the calibration test process at the final stage of production of handheld products. The MAX2204 uses Maxim's advanced silicon bipolar technology to achieve this performance, operating from 450MHz to 2.5GHz. This performance and flexibility make the device ideal for today's demanding closed-loop mobile devices such as HSDPA/HSUPA, WCDMA, and cdma2000 handheld devices.
The MAX2204 can detect from -16dBm to +5dBm. The device supports resistive tap and directional coupler architectures. The external termination used at the input of the device allows a single MAX2204 to be connected to multiple directional couplers.
